Januar 2019 beende ich nach insgesamt 28 Jahren meine - sagen wir - "Radiokarriere" und bedanke mich bei allen Hörern, die seit den unruhvollen Tagen von DT64 um 1991 dieses wundervolle Ding namens Radio eingeschaltet und genau wie auch ich geliebt haben! Ich gehe, wenn es am schönsten ist, ohne Groll oder Verbitterung ob der gruseligen Radiolandschaft insbesondere in Sachsen. Bitte schaltet Radio T ein sooft es irgend geht, oder Radio Eins! Danke.

Seit den 80er Jahren ist Scott unterwegs mit den auch in Europa bekannten The Clean und The Bats, veröffentlichte Soloscheiben, spielte in Bands mit Projektcharakter wie Magick Heads, Harmonic Deluxe, Toast oder Electric Blood, gehörte zum "Quasi-Inventar" bei Flying Nun Records. Nach der Krise des Aucklander Labels sind die CDs von Robert Scott auch über die Hamburger Filiale von Powertool Records erhältlich. Blue Monday widmet am 5. Mai eine Stunde den vielfältigen musikalischen Aktivitäten des Meisters. September vom Brühl 56. Veröffentlicht wird zum Teil noch auf dem guten alten (RIP) Magnetband sprich der Kassette oder auf CD-R, Stückzahlen von 20 oder 30 Stück sind keine Seltenheit. Initialisiert von Bands wie Kryzys oder Deadlock und recht originellen Mixturen aus Punk, Reggae, Jazz, Psychodelic und Folklore gelang in Volkspolen Anfang der 80er Jahre sogar der Aufbau des halbstaatlichen Labels Pronit, auf dem vor der Wende so wegweisende Bands wie Izrael, Voovoo, Armia oder Ziyo veröffentlichten. Im Blue Monday ist am 04. Juni neben den Vorgenannten auch in Polen verlegter UK-Punk zu hören. Damals war das Trio aus dem verschlafenen Finsterwalde in Brandenburg lediglich Insidern bekannt. Diverse Airplays auf Radio T und den einschlägig bekannten RBB-Stationen sowie ein ambitioniertes Debütalbum namens "Young Man Afraid" (Rookie/Cargo) später stellen wir Band und Album vor und lassen sie virtuell gegen die gestandene Berliner Formation Mothers Little Helpers antreten. Letztere haben soeben ihre neue CD "Be Hip" (Rough Trade) veröffentlicht. Auch hier spielt der Popfaktor eine ganz wesentliche Rolle: Rocken fürs Radio ohne nervöses Getue. Von beiden Bands wird man noch hören! Playlist 345 19.03.2007 - Neuseeland Tapes II Ende der 80er Jahre tauchte Popmusik aus Neuseeland auch in europäischen Szenegazetten und Radiostationen auf. Mit dem Label Flying Nun Records - nunmehr 25 Jahre alt - als Flagschiff des Kiwi Sound stürmten Bands wie The Bats, Headless Chickens, The Clean, Jean Paul Satre Experience, Sneaky Feeling, Chris Knox... auch in die Indie Charts. Der Musikinteressierte Ost erfuhr in Lutz Schramms Parocktikum erstmals von den wunderbaren Downunder-Popklängen. Der Hype war schnell vorbei, spätestens Ende der 90er. Blue Monday hat dem Phänomen Neuseeland zwei Specials im März gewidmet und spielt verlorene Songs von Tapes, zusammengetragen in den Jahren 1996/1997 auf Flöhmärkten und in Plattenläden des großartigen Inselstaates. Mehr als 20 Jahre lang bestimmte die Compact Cassette in Ost und West den Consumer Bereich, wurden Mixtapes in Umlauf gebracht, bewarben sich Bands mit ihren Kassetten bei Plattenfirmen, spielte man auch im Rundfunk von 1/4" Analogband in Plastikbox. Vorbei die Zeit von Rauschunterdrückung, Bandsortenerkennung, Vormagnetisierung und Tonkopfreinigung. Blue Monday erinnert in dieser Sendung mit Demo Tapes sächsischer Bands aus den 90ern an die großen Tagen der MC. Playlist 339 15.01.2007 - Musik aus Weißrussland (live) mit Gästen Weißrußland: kaum einer kennt das Land zwischen Polen und Rußland, kaum einer weiß, daß hier die letzte Diktatur Europas ihr Unwesen treibt. Darunter leiden nicht nur kritische Journalisten, sondern auch die Musiker. Und doch ist gerade die Musikszene des Landes ein Sammelbecken alljener, die Demokratie und Freiheit höher schätzen als eine lahme, satte Konsum- & Spaßgesellschaft westlichen Stils.
